Watch your energy so that you don’t overdo. Overdoing is responsible for exhaustion, sickness, dis-ease and many other maladies of both body and spirit. To overdo is to overgive of time and energy to things of the world, to people, to duties, to habits, and to things outside of the self so that the self is largely ignored. Tune into the self more often to find out what is the right amount of energy to give to any one person or thing, to any need or desire, to any duty or ritual.
Take care of the self and gain balance in doing so. It’s the only way to maintain good health, good habits, and good mind, body, spirit equanimity.
Pace yourself so that you maintain good physical presence but also so that your inner energy remains stable and viable. When you overdo, tiredness and malaise set in and the mind then turns to overstimulation with doubt, worry, and thoughts of an unhealthy nature. When good balance is maintained, body, mind, and spirit are in healthy collaboration so that everything you do and think stays within a realm that has access to, and can work with, your spirit, the part of you that fuels your energy, that doles out wisdom, and that knows what is truly good for you.
Strive for balance in mind, body and spirit, allowing each to have its part but none too much. Moderation in all habits of mind, body and spirit will allow balance to be achieved. When any aspect is overdone or neglected the whole suffers. It’s a pretty simple concept to grasp but obviously a difficult task to achieve. That is why it can be the work of an entire lifetime, and a worthy endeavor indeed!
Take care of yourself. Only you know what you really need, but if you don’t do the things you know you should do for yourself no one else will be of help either. You are responsible for you. There is no rescue except within the self by admitting that you know what you need and by taking the steps that you should take to help yourself. Most physical ills are caused by energy blockages, by stuck emotions, old ideas and beliefs that have stagnated and solidified. Trauma is a severe cause of trouble until faced and resolved. Take care of yourself as only you know how, with the pure and good intention to once and for all undo what needs undoing and getting into a new balance of good energy flow and inner calmness that is right for you. You know what to do.
Without fear turn inward and find out what ails you, for it is not all outside of you. Yes, the world around you is in bad shape, but what inside you is also in bad shape? For you, and everyone on the planet, reflect the whole. You are part of everything and thus part of everything is in you as well. Turn inward to do the deeper work of self-repair and in turn repair the world. That is your greatest challenge now—self repair. Do it with love and compassion for self and you will do yourself a world of good.
