Witness

I wrote the following poem a few weeks ago. It just came through me without being conjured or called. I felt the urge to grab a pen, and this is what came through. I hope it helps, especially in these times of turmoil when we may not feel heard, respected, appreciated for the journeys we have taken, when no one wants to listen to our story, when we feel alone in the world and our heart is heavy. Perhaps this offering that I received will offer you something. Here is the poem:

Witness

Let the sun be your witness, for it has warmed you.

Let the wind be your witness, for it has heard you.

Let the darkness be your witness, for it carries your story.

Let the earth be your witness, for it bears your pain.

Let the dawn be your witness, for it knows your dreams.

Let the birds be your witness, for they sing your song.

Let the water be your witness, for it washes your tears.

Let the whole Universe be your witness, for it knows you better than you do.

Let your Soul be your witness, for it has already gone where you have gone.

Be your own witness, for you know who you truly are.

Sending you love and support,

Take care of the body for it is the only one you get. The spirit is eternal but it too needs care, for it is so often neglected and forgotten, as life in the body dominates. Let the body have its needs in order to survive and thrive, but don’t forget to keep the spirit alive as well, giving it as much attention as the body, keeping it present and active in your life. It needs care and nurturing too, that invisible you that only wants to be known and trusted, for it has treasures to give and wisdom to impart from its eternal home. Ask your spirit to guide you. Learn to trust it, for it holds knowledge for your body as well as your soul. Just ask.

Sending you love,

Curtail your energy, conserving it for that which is most necessary. Keep it safe within rather than expending it without unnecessarily. You don’t have to do so much. Far better to take some personal quiet time than to run around doing nothing. Study how you use your energy. What are you wasting it on? What can you turn off? What can you turn away from? Who can you depart from? Who or what simply drains your energy? To be a caring person takes energy, but some giving is right and some giving is not. It might be time to stop doing something that is not good for you. Decide what’s most important and focus your energy there. In all areas of life strive to be focused, concentrated, and energetically appropriate. Make new decisions that are healthy, kind and loving toward yourself so that you may be energetically available when it is right for that which is most necessary. It’s okay to take care of yourself too.

Let yourself be calm and easy through all the trials and turmoils of life, for stress is your mortal enemy. Find a way to calm your body and your mind, to gain control over anxiety and panic, pain and fear, worry and intrusive thoughts. Find a balance within and without that will serve to keep you happy and healthy in mind, body, and spirit throughout your days. There are so many options available; search for one that suits you well and practice it always. Make it work for you so that your life may be calm and flowing and one of contentment and joy. Make getting your inner state into calm balance your priority. The solution lies in your own hands. You have the power to accomplish anything. Why not begin with yourself and use your personal power for your own good for a change? Do so, and all will be well for a long time to come.

Let your mind be still, your heart calm, your body loose and easy. Remind yourself often to “relax your body, relax your mind,” as you make your way through the day. In stillness, calmness, and ease of body, mind, and heart breathe and acknowledge that in this moment you are fine, and let that be enough. “In this moment I am fine.” Let this moment be good enough. With kindness and compassion for yourself let this moment be good enough. Eventually all of those good enough moments will string together into a fine day indeed!
