Remind yourself often as you go through the day to return to balance, to inner peace and calm. You can even speak the words—peace and calm—to yourself and immediately feel their effect. Even just thinking those two words will have an effect because there is power in words and in thoughts. May you experience peace and calm today, and every day.
Absolute power is really no power at all for it does not include the inner power of the heart. It takes from but does not give in return. It seeks to overpower rather than create balance of power. When things are difficult keep in mind that anything that is overdone will ultimately fail, for it cannot sustain its high perch for eternity. What goes up must come down after all. Seek in your own life the perfect balance that is right for you no matter what someone else is doing. You know what that looks like and you have all you need to achieve it, little by little and step by step.
Find balance within yourself and within the world you live in. Give yourself time each morning to sit for a moment and give thanks for another day to grow and challenge yourself. Give thanks for all the gifts you are given each day. Whether small or large, whether known or unknown, you are all being given daily gifts. To start the day with thanksgiving is a perfect beginning. Take your grateful attitude with you into your day, and remind yourself often, as the day unwinds, that you are blessed indeed.
Undercurrents of balance and harmony ride beneath the waves of disharmony. Notice how angry an ocean can appear, how choppy the waves, how fierce the surf as it slams upon the shoreline. And yet, at another depth all is calm and life goes on; the fish swim as if no such storm rails above. Sink into the depths of inner harmony and balance to regain equilibrium during times of stress. Swim among the calm waters of your inner self, knowing full well that you have what you need within you to weather through any storm. And remember, the weather always changes.
Look within each day to address the needs of your inner self, the part of you that really sets the pace and determines the mood for the day. What does this part of you need today? Are you feeling outgoing, energetic and talkative? Or are you feeling in need of solitude, contemplation and quiet time? The inner you can be overridden, but oftentimes it’s better to pay attention so that the needs of that part of the self don’t begin to pile up. Unmet needs of the inner self have a tendency to accumulate, build up and grow until they erupt in some fashion. Deal with the inner you each day the same way that you deal with the outer you. Give it time to be present, important and directive. You won’t regret it. And you might learn something new about yourself as well!
