Be open hearted, open minded, and open to all that seeks to teach you. There are many lessons to learn and many ways to learn them. How your personal lessons come to you are unique. Pay attention to your body and what it tells you. Pay attention to your heart and what it says to you. Pay attention to your dreams as they seek to guide you. You are fully equipped with so much and you are supported in so may ways by all that you are, body, mind, heart, spirit. The first step is to know this, the second to listen, the third to take seriously all that you yourself have within you that shows you your healing path, your path to knowledge, and your path of heart. You are complete, filled to the brim with all you need. You are enough.

When change comes beckoning do not run and hide from it but face it, embrace it, and engage it. For times of change, changing elements and events that shift, offer opportunities, openings that until experienced are powerless nothings, mere thoughts, ideas, latent potentials. But first steps in any new direction, challenging as they may be, are the catalysts to a whole windfall of other events. Accept change as it comes into your life as naturally as you breathe. And when it arrives, turn in its direction and walk with it along the new path it affords with intent, determination, openhearted and ready for anything. That is the warrior’s way.

What are you holding onto? What have you encapsulated? Some thought, idea, perception that you think belongs to you when in fact it is not yours to carry? Perhaps you are unconsciously protecting someone else, burdening yourself out of fear for another, out of empathy, out of guilt? Everyone must live out their own life, their own mistakes, their own karma. Everyone carries something with them into life that defines them, something they alone must face and resolve. A true warrior attends to the personal karmic issues with unbending intent and reaches toward the personal potential with nerves of steel, simultaneously allowing others to do the same. This requires a certain degree of detachment, but it is detachment with utter dedication to a path of heart as the only true path. It involves awakening the deepest of love and kindness and the knowledge that the only way a warrior will achieve karmic resolve is by walking that personal path of heart and by facing those karmic issues personally. It involves knowing that everyone is a warrior and that life must be allowed to unfold along its karmic path in order for each warrior to resolve and evolve. But most importantly, do it all with love. That’s the warrior’s way.

Let your heart be still, your mind clear, and your intent focused so that your path of heart appears in each step you take, in each day’s unfolding, so that you are always in alignment with what is right for you to do, within and without. Make decisions based on the question, “Is this my path of heart?” Discover yourself more fully each day as you pose this question and make decisions, testing your ground and feeling your way. Train yourself to know in an instant what to do, how to act and react, until your path of heart is automatically your first and only choice.

Own your choices. Embrace your decisions. But make sure you know and fully acknowledge who you are binding yourself to and why, whom you are making contracts with and for what reason. Admit to the details of your inner truths, desires, and the little tricks you play on yourself to get what you want. At the same time, strive to be impeccable while fully aware that you are imperfect. It’s the intent that counts. No one is perfect. Everyone has their flaws, but knowing the truth of one’s self is the first step in upholding a certain standard of impeccability. A warrior seeks impeccability while simultaneously knowing full well the weaknesses, faults, and little tricks that come up regularly to thwart the warrior’s way. With good humor a warrior acknowledges everything—and indulges or not, depending on the situation—but always a warrior steps right back onto the path with heart that has always been the warrior’s first choice, continuing on the way with hardly a look back. That is the warrior’s way.
