It’s a good time to move beyond that which no longer works for you, that which keeps you stuck, and that which inhibits progress. Keep in mind that fear, the biggest overall blockage to growth, is often accompanied by other habits and behaviors that reinforce feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, and the inability to move on in life. So be prepared to go to battle against that which has held you up for so long but is obviously detrimental, not only to your life’s progress and your spirit but to your health and well being as well. The time has come to really take the next step.

Let not the vicissitudes of life, nor your own actions, get you down or keep you from your greater potential. Forge ahead through thick and thin to arrive at your own truth, to discover your own soul’s journey, to meet your own destiny. Is not life grand in the way it challenges? Is it not productive in how it decides what is most important? And does it not always seem to know exactly what is needed? There is no randomness. Everything allows you to complete your journey through Earth School in the most satisfying and productive manner. In both large and small ways everything is meaningful.

New beginnings mark the passage of time but also the passage of human inclinations, desires, and promises. To hold oneself to a promise of change is a noble thought but to act upon it is a challenge that over the passage of time may prove impossible. Far better to make no strict promises but to live every day in the moment, learning to stay aware of what is important and what isn’t, to act instead of promise, to do rather than say, to be alive in each breath as much as possible. Rather than mark a beginning, mark an ever-evolving moment in time.

Refine your attempts to evolve and grow each day by facing what keeps you away from your goals, addressing your concerns with honesty and an attitude of absolute truthfulness. Evolution and growth may at times come in slow steps, for with you, just as with nature, there are dormant times. But even during dormant times tremendous things are happening out of sight. Those are the times of inner work and contemplation, perhaps the most important and unique strategy in human evolution, the ability to go within and contemplate the self on a deeper level. If you can change yourself on the inside by deep contemplation and study you will naturally change on the outside as well. What’s going on inside you today? That’s the question to ask, to face, and to work on within.

Wipe your mind clear every morning and begin anew as if you knew nothing. Greet the world with the eyes of a newborn babe and sniff the air as if for the first time. Marvel over the sunrise. Feel rain and wind and sunshine on your skin. Revel in being alive and let the day shower you with its gifts, for there are many and many experiences to have for the first time.
