Change is inevitable. All things evolve over time. All things undergo the natural process of a lifetime, both in nature and in human life, changing incrementally every day. Acceptance of change can take a lifetime, but one day it is no longer unseen to even the most avoidant eye. Change is life, life is change. And yet there is something that remains the same, the spirit of everything, which persists throughout all the changes that matter undergoes. And that is what evolves into new life. Pay attention to your spirit as it seeks to guide you each day through the inevitable changes of life. It knows what to do, how to be, and where to go.

Start anew each day with new intentions, new thoughts about yourself and new words of encouragement. Even though things may not appear different from one day to the next, you have the power to change how you think, how you act, and where you put your energy, your creativity, and your compassionate heart.

When things get difficult, either because of repeated patterning or out of the blue, remind yourself that everything is part of your journey of learning and growing.

Ask yourself: “What am I learning today?”

Find the answer in the unfolding of the day, in the options that arise, the choices that present, and what comes up as the day progresses. You might begin to notice that you have more decisions to make than you thought possible, that every moment offers a choice in how you decide to attend to it. Breathe, relax, calm down and make a choice that will make the next moment calm and relaxing too. It can be as easy as that.

Stay focused on your intent to change. Though there are often interruptions and unforeseen blips in your progress, do not let them interrupt the flow of your life toward a more meaningful spell, toward the life you dream of. It is natural for the flow of life to contain ups and downs, and each up and each down is a lesson along the path. Look always forward, and continue onward toward your goal no matter the events that may seem to stand in your way. As with nature, everything does eventually change.

Notice how things have changed all around you. The world is different every day. The sun rises in a different spot, casts a different shadow, pours forth new light. Incremental though day to day changes are they reflect a bigger pattern and a grander plan, that of evolution. So is it with you; each day is part of the pattern of your life but also the greater plan of your evolution. You are not alone, everything is following the same pattern and the same plan. Isn’t it grand?
