Do you feel left out of life, neglected, rejected, left behind? Rather than feel that life is not treating you well, look to yourself and question what you are supposed to be learning in this life. Is it to give rather than receive? To learn compassion for others? To get over self-importance? With a calm and quiet heart, meditate upon the suffering of others for a change and figure out a way to give so that the world may be a better place. With your heart in the right place you can indeed make a difference in someone else’s life, thus making a difference in your own as well.

Is it time to give rather than spending your time and energy trying to get?

It’s never too late to take a different path, to find a path of heart, a path that seeks love, compassion and kindness as its moral principles rather than greed and selfishness. A path of heart includes a nonjudgmental way of life. For once upon a path of heart it becomes clear that you are just one of the many on the same path through life, that all are as one, seeking to fulfill life in the best way possible. But a path of heart is a path of awareness and that is the difference between that and any other path. For once you have awareness then everything is meaningful in the context of past, present and future karma. Once upon a path of heart no other path will do.

It’s easy to say that you are a spiritual person but much harder to actually be one. To be spiritual is to live according to hard-earned and hard-learned insights, to hold fast to the true fact that you are more than mind and matter, and to operate fully and unconditionally from a place of love, compassion, non-judgment, and kindness, to fully express yourself from the heart, to let your spirit speak and teach you about yourself and to accept what it has to tell you. A lifelong journey of truth seeking and acceptance of self is a spiritual journey indeed, and well worth a lifetime’s probing. To know yourself is to know more than yourself and that you are more than that, for you are indeed a part of everything.

It is advisable to seek calmness throughout the day. Take time to sit, eyes closed to the world, and breathe yourself into a calm state. When the central nervous system is agitated or stressed the whole body suffers. Longevity requires peace of mind, body and spirit. Daily attention to what is happening within the systems in the body and mind will be of great aid to the entire system. Meditation, walking, sitting or lying down, is always advisable. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Just a simple calming exercise for a few minutes at a time will do the trick. Take some time for yourself, to retreat, breathe and grow calm. It will do you more good than you know!

Relax, breathe, and know that you are in command and capable of bringing yourself to inner peace and safety. When the world outside is chaotic that doesn’t mean you have to be chaotic as well. Quite the opposite. When the world outside is chaotic that is the signal for you to buckle down to the good work of inner peace and calmness, for every action you take reflects into the world. So, if you are peaceful and calm you reflect that into the world around you, tempering the chaos. This is powerful medicine. Use it wisely.
