It is advisable to seek calmness throughout the day. Take time to sit, eyes closed to the world, and breathe yourself into a calm state. When the central nervous system is agitated or stressed the whole body suffers. Longevity requires peace of mind, body and spirit. Daily attention to what is happening within the systems in the body and mind will be of great aid to the entire system. Meditation, walking, sitting or lying down, is always advisable. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Just a simple calming exercise for a few minutes at a time will do the trick. Take some time for yourself, to retreat, breathe and grow calm. It will do you more good than you know!

Look no further than where you are. Revel in each moment as it brings you its revelations, joys, sorrows, insights and offerings. In each moment is an opportunity to remain calm and inwardly focused, as you ask, what does this moment mean to me now? Without looking to move onward, stay in the present moment and experience it fully. Soon it will be gone and its lessons forgotten. But, luckily, a new moment will have arrived. Breathe, and enjoy it for what it brings.

Find your center, your place of peace and calmness within. Anchor yourself there, in the known self that is solid and permanent so that you may equally anchor yourself in the other known self, that which is ethereal and infinite. These two selves require equal attention so that they may both have room to grow and explore. Don’t neglect one for the other but strive always to give each the time and space they need.

Watch what tries to grab your attention, what comes to pull you, to take you from your central anchor. It may be something useful, helpful or considerate or it may be something useless, unhelpful and inconsiderate of your overall energy. Own your actions but strive always to keep them in alignment with your higher purpose in life. Don’t despair when things go awry but instead give yourself another chance. It’s the best way to realign.

Find centering within the self and know your wholeness, the complete nature of yourself. For though you may feel scattered, distracted, distant from yourself, your mind elsewhere, feeling disconnected even from your body, you are whole within the self, in body and spirit, the two selves that you are comprised of. Without the spirit there would be no you! Know yourself in this way, as wholeness in body and spirit, and be at peace knowing that you have already found what you have been seeking, your own wholeness within the self. Let your spirit, who knows you so well, keep you healthy, calm, and steady upon your loving path of heart. There is no better guide.
