In times of stress be aware that ideas of illness can arise. This might mean that an inkling of sickness is really telling you to slow down, that you are doing too much, giving too much, overwhelming your own body with too many stress hormones that find no place to rest. Take care of your body, especially during times of stress, for rest of the body, mind and spirit are as important as peace in the world. And if you are not at peace within yourself then there will not be peace outside of you either. So, get some good and nurturing rest in whatever stress-free way appeals to you, for a stress-free you will mean a stress-free world.

Find peace within yourself today, no matter what is going on in the world outside of you. Find peace in a few calm breaths. Find peace in a heart-centered prayer. Find peace in giving gratitude. Find peace in sitting calmly and quieting the mind. Find peace in some tender music, in a slow walk, in the first light upon your face. Find peace in the company of like-minded people. Or find peace in solitude. Whatever it takes, give yourself permission to experience peace in some way today. It will anchor and ground you and fuel your day with a certainty of self-regulation that only you can grant yourself, at any time.

As part of the world continues to show that it does not want to stop ramping up rage and discontent, another part of the world continues to show that peace is possible. To be in alignment with peace, within and without, is surely a worthwhile activity. The more people who are active in setting the goal of peace within, through practices such as heart-centered breathing, the more they engage peace in the world around them. When you are at peace within yourself, then everyone you come into contact with will be affected by that peace as well.

Continually and consciously find your balance. Tune into your body, your central nervous system and your emotional state throughout the day. Notice what is going on inside. Are you calm? Centered? Feeling peaceful? Or are you the opposite of those states? Why? Suggest to yourself that as you tune in that you also close your eyes for a moment or two. Breathe. Let go of what is currently on your mind and just be in the moment. Breathe deeply a few times. Notice how you feel physically, mentally and emotionally. Self care can be as simple as that to begin with. Just pause, breathe, and let go with a sigh. Simple.

Let nature inspire you. In her everyday glory let Mother Nature show you how to live, how to breathe, how to prosper. Follow the path of the sun as it rises, shines equally upon all and then sets at day’s end. Follow the wind as it blows, ruffling everything and everyone, touching all in its path. Examine how you shine and whom you touch. Allow your brightness and your wisdom, your warmth and your compassion to be felt by as many as possible so that you too make the world a better and more beautiful place.
