In the play of light and dark, in the shadows of the self, find the inner you that calls out for acknowledgement and healing. You are all complicated beings with many sides, many issues and many agendas. Get to know all these sides, issues and agendas so that as they arise and ask for time and attention you are able to give them what they need. Acknowledge them, question them, listen to them, get to fully know them, accept and integrate them. In this manner, reconcile with them so that they do not rule you but still have their place, so that they do not blindside you over and over again but become so known that you see them coming from miles away. In knowing yourself fully and reconciling fully, life will begin to take on a calm, more focused agenda, with truth in the fore and illusion put to rest.

Hold yourself accountable for decisions and choices rather than blame others. In so doing you take full responsibility for yourself and your life. You learn where you are weak and where you are strong. You test your values and commitments and you find out more about yourself so that you can grow and change. Change that happens because you accept responsibility for yourself is the best there is. It is lasting and deep and usually results in something new and unexpected. Accepting your own faults and turning them into strengths so that you can move forward in life is part of being a responsible human being. Everyone can improve.

Underneath the outer shell of a person lies a vast universe of self, the parts of a person you cannot see or hear, the inner world that is as vast as the night sky, as deep as the ocean, as mysterious as the wind. The inner self holds the secrets to life, the past, present and future, the known and the unknown. Get to know it within yourself more fully as you encounter it each day. Ask it to guide you, to show you what’s important, to help you make decisions. It will not fail you, for it is the you that already knows the outcome of your life and wishes you only the best.

Legions of souls have gone before you,  trying to figure out the mysteries of life, how it works and why. True answers don’t arise until one is done but in the meantime curiosity can lead to experiential processes that are beneficial and give a taste of what true reality really is. Remaining fully conscious and aware that life is more than meets the eye is one good attitude that aids in the search for meaning and purpose. Keeping an open mind and heart is equally helpful, as is a keen desire and curiosity to learn and gain knowledge. Focus on being open and engaged in the wonders of life, without judgment.

Let not the vicissitudes of life get in the way of your spiritual growth. The inner path, the path of direct heart centered growth, is the path of the spirit, the part of you that does not judge or condemn but only focuses on going where it knows to go, onward and upward. Know that your spirit does not grow sad, does not falter, does not grow weary. It is patient as it waits for you to remember its existence, as it waits for you to catch up to its urgings, and as it waits for you to follow its path. The path of spirit is the evolutionary path of true growth in any life. Find that path and you have found your purpose.
