Find your balance within your own Self. Rather than reach outside of you, thinking you will find it there, turn inward and seek balance within. It lies in the stillness of your mind, in the calmness of your central nervous system, in the quiet of your heart. It lies in knowing your wholeness as a human being on a spiritual journey. Find balance in your two feet firmly planted upon the ground and your spirit’s guidance showing you the next step to take. With measured care of the Self, inside and out, carry on.

Get to know yourself on the deepest of levels, what it feels like to be in balance, as well as what it feels like to be imbalanced. Both states are important to know and understand so that the things in your life that create imbalance may be curtailed or eliminated and that which creates balance may be nurtured and supported. Staying in balance is a constant daily challenge, especially when things are in turmoil, but knowing the self more fully will certainly aid in keeping in balance, no matter what is causing the turmoil. Self care is an important part of a healthy life, so don’t neglect the self, inside and outside. You do matter—all of you.

I wrote the following poem a few weeks ago. It just came through me without being conjured or called. I felt the urge to grab a pen, and this is what came through. I hope it helps, especially in these times of turmoil when we may not feel heard, respected, appreciated for the journeys we have taken, when no one wants to listen to our story, when we feel alone in the world and our heart is heavy. Perhaps this offering that I received will offer you something. Here is the poem:

Witness

Let the sun be your witness, for it has warmed you.

Let the wind be your witness, for it has heard you.

Let the darkness be your witness, for it carries your story.

Let the earth be your witness, for it bears your pain.

Let the dawn be your witness, for it knows your dreams.

Let the birds be your witness, for they sing your song.

Let the water be your witness, for it washes your tears.

Let the whole Universe be your witness, for it knows you better than you do.

Let your Soul be your witness, for it has already gone where you have gone.

Be your own witness, for you know who you truly are.

Sending you love and support,

Jan

Take care of the body for it is the only one you get. The spirit is eternal but it too needs care, for it is so often neglected and forgotten, as life in the body dominates. Let the body have its needs in order to survive and thrive, but don’t forget to keep the spirit alive as well, giving it as much attention as the body, keeping it present and active in your life. It needs care and nurturing too, that invisible you that only wants to be known and trusted, for it has treasures to give and wisdom to impart from its eternal home. Ask your spirit to guide you. Learn to trust it, for it holds knowledge for your body as well as your soul. Just ask.

Curtail your energy, conserving it for that which is most necessary. Keep it safe within rather than expending it without unnecessarily. You don’t have to do so much. Far better to take some personal quiet time than to run around doing nothing. Study how you use your energy. What are you wasting it on? What can you turn off? What can you turn away from? Who can you depart from? Who or what simply drains your energy? To be a caring person takes energy, but some giving is right and some giving is not. It might be time to stop doing something that is not good for you. Decide what’s most important and focus your energy there. In all areas of life strive to be focused, concentrated, and energetically appropriate. Make new decisions that are healthy, kind and loving toward yourself so that you may be energetically available when it is right for that which is most necessary. It’s okay to take care of yourself too.
