Beyond this day lies a future as of yet unknown. The past lies behind you, known but often forgotten. And the present day lies somewhere in between the known and the unknown. But in true reality all is fully known. All that is done and all that is not yet done, all that is lived and all that is not yet lived is fully known, planned and need only be executed. The process of life is however full of choices, and even predetermined events can change. Every day is full of possibilities and thus available to be lived however you determine. By your attitude and choices you can change everything.

Things are changing all the time but that doesn’t always result in change. Just because change is going on around you doesn’t mean it will effect you. The only way to enact change in your own life is to change yourself. When you change, suddenly everything is different. When you make an effort to be more loving, suddenly the world is more loving too. When you change something in your own life it feels as if the whole world is different. It’s not everyone else around you and everything else in your life that needs to change, it’s you.

In order for something new to begin, something old must end. Times of transition and change call constantly for endings. One day ends and another begins. The sun sets and the moon rises. The ocean ebbs and flows. There is a constant coming and going, in nature as in the lives of all living beings. Just as the urge for ending arises so does the urge to begin anew arise simultaneously. Practice endings and beginnings with awareness, noting your reactions. Are they positive? Are you looking forward to change? Or is it difficult for you? With awareness of the necessity for change, begin to see endings as the first step in a new beginning and to appreciate the cycles of life as they naturally occur for the greater good of yourself, and the greater good of all. Something new is always just about to begin.

Change occurs constantly, though there are times when change is necessary, when there is nothing left to do but create anew. Sometimes it’s just the only thing to do. At other times change is so incremental that it’s hardly noticeable. You know the difference and when action is necessary. If action is not taken when needed, it will be forced upon you. So, are you going to change willingly and with determination? Or are you going to get dragged into it? The choice is yours.

Have patience with yourself just as the bird sitting upon a nest has patience. Soon your eggs too will hatch and new life will come forth. In the meantime envision that new life and what you want it to look like. See it unfolding. See yourself living it. Even as the bird feels the eggs beneath it in the nest it has created it does not question what comes next, for it lives the program as it exists. Humans however can use imagination to bring forth new life, interrupting an old program that no longer works. For the bird, it’s one dream only, but for humans the ability to dream a new dream at any time is truly a gift.
