Without air there would be no life. Without water there would be no life. Nature provides these most important life-giving necessities and yet are they fully appreciated? Or are they taken for granted? Tune into nature and experience all that she gives without needing anything in return, except respect. Provide her that and things would not be so dire. Spend a little time respectfully in her company and with gratitude and respect breathe her air and drink her water. She will appreciate it.

When nature changes abruptly there is turmoil; hurricanes, tornadoes, tidal waves and blizzards all bring chaos with them. Heat waves and cold snaps and other extremes cause disruptions and often death ensues. When picking up the pieces afterwards there are questions as to why. Why indeed? Nature has its ways of bringing about change, and some may seem harsh, but when change is really needed it may not be noted until much later. Look inward each day and ask: Where do I need change? What can I change today? Make change a daily habit and notice how much nicer incremental change is compared to disaster.

Find happiness in small things, in the glint of sunlight shining through the leaves, in the sound of spring birds calling to each other, in the scurry to build nests and lay eggs, in the soft breezes that suggest fine summer days ahead. Let the calm and predictable journey of spring arriving assure you that all is unfolding according to plan, as it always does. Yes, each year there are changes to note, things unfolding earlier than normal, perhaps too many rainstorms or too few, perhaps too hot weather too soon, but in its own way nature calmly carries on. Do the same, carry on, but do so with a calm and knowing heart, for there is till so much more to come.

Nature is healing. Spend more time among trees, in the sunlight, breathing fresh air, walking, listening, and just being. Sit by water and let its healing sound soothe you, its flow match the rhythm of your own flow.  Step away from the daily routine for even a few moments and enjoy some stress-free breaths in the fresh air. Find peaceful affinity in nature, as it is. And let the self just be, as it is.

Nature arranges itself according to its own plan, unfolding changes on a daily basis that may or may not be seen or noticed. Humans have a tendency to want things to change on demand and although that is often possible it may not be the best plan. Learning to go with the flow of life’s unfolding may be the better plan, slowing down so that life’s subtle changes may be noticed and taken advantage of. Steady, incremental changes allow for steady growth that is sustainable and acceptable. Allow for sustainable and nurturing growth that is beneficial, helpful and easily assimilated into a life of change. And don’t forget to fully feel all the changes in all the important ways, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
