Without malice face what comes to disturb your day and let a new perspective guide you. Nothing is too great to face and nothing will get the better of you, especially if you decide to look upon life as a great mystery with its own purpose and its own direction. How life unfolds may never be understood while it is unfolding but hindsight offers the gift of truth, for in looking back one is granted the long view that surely explains everything and leaves one in awe. Be in awe.

After a while the change you decided to make will no longer be a challenge. At that point, rather than become complacent again, it will be time to pose another challenge, to take another step in a new direction. What is life if not a series of challenges that further your progress in the good? Allow yourself to savor the victory of your first challenge, but don’t wait too long to begin the next. Don’t let habitual life take over again, even if it’s in a new place and a new form. Continually break barriers, step out beyond your comfort zone and challenge yourself to keep going.

Find peace and calmness in the minutest of things, in the first spring flowers, in the first warm breezes of the season, in the trickle of running water in a stream, in the budding and flowering trees. Find calmness in the sound of your feet upon the ground, the crunch of gravel, the rustle of old leaves beneath your feet. Look up, look down, look all around you. You are not alone. The whole world is your companion.

Change often comes unbidden and yet once it arrives its necessity is clear. If we are stuck and unable to move ourselves in a new direction some part of us or some outside force will prompt us to do so, either by force or circumstance. When change comes greet it with open arms, for it will return equilibrium to life, rearranging things so that they are in better balance, remaking things in a new pattern. Change is always good, though it may take some time to fully realize this and to realize that it has always been in the making as well.
