Something is missing. The old guard has left and the new guard arrived, but something is lacking. The old had something of value to offer; years of discipline, the will of accumulated practice, ancient knowledge that only an old warrior can accumulate and use properly. It is not appropriate to completely throw out the old. Learn from the old, even as you strive for the new, and all will not be lost. You are not forsaken but only eager, and you have quickly forgotten what you truly know; the beauty of kindness, the spirit of compassion, the wonder of love, even for yourself. These ancient powers still work and their magic must still prevail. Rely on them and all will be well, within and without.

Be generous, even in small and simple ways. Let your heart be open and giving, with a smile, a helping hand, a kind thought. There is always someone or something needing kindness; another person, an animal, even a physical place may need a generous touch. Generosity comes in a softly spoken word of encouragement, a gift unasked for, a surprise in the mail. Fill your heart with giving kindness so that you may fill someone else’s life with something special, not out of duty or habit, not out of pity or shame, but because it makes your heart happy to give. Give not to receive something in return, nor to show off your giving self, but give only because you can, because giving is what it’s really all about, all the time. Give anonymously, with love, expecting and needing nothing in return. That is real generosity.

Sending you love,

Let kindness flow from you as the wind flows from the sky, as the rain falls from the clouds, as the oceans rise and swell, as the light streams down from the golden sun. Let uninhibited kindness flow from your lips in words, from your hands in deeds, from your heart in an outpouring of love to counter all that is not right in the world, to be the change so badly needed. Without need for anything in return become an avenue of change in your kindnesses. Reap the good healing effects of taking attention off yourself and your own worries and problems, for even a moment, by giving to another, simply because you can. With kindhearted giving you can’t go wrong. You might even discover that you truly gave something right and beautiful to another human being. Even a kindness given in silence can have such effect!

Sending you loving kindness,

Remember: all that is not sacred now will one day be sacred again. All that has lost its specialness will be special again. The heart will reign once again; kindness will be the norm; love will find its place; compassion will know no bounds. One day soon, humanity will realize its mistakes and the world will stop spinning out of control and calmness will return and peace will reign. Keep these promises of a new sacred world in your heart and your mind, and yet act as if it has already come to pass. As within so without has never been more important. Be the sacred solution. Go in peace.

Sustain, maintain, and retain your open heartedness, your loving kindness, and your compassionate presence in all you do, towards all you meet, in who you are, and in how you act in the moments that are most important in your life, as well as in the moments that are mundane and ordinary. Operate from your heart center at all times so that your life flows like a gentle river, with intent, with bountiful energy, and with all its gifts ready at hand. Practice being openhearted toward self and others in the natural flow of everyday life and find that as you maintain this openhearted self you become more susceptible to love overall, in all its varied forms, within and without. And that is good, for you and for others. As it should be.
