Chuck’s Place: The Nakedness Of Shame And Lust

Total Embrace of Passionate Self…

Shame is like the all too familiar dream of being forced to use a completely exposed public toilet. The toilet might be in the midst of Grand Central Station. The toilet may be horrifically backed up. There may not even be a toilet seat, or anything other than a hole. But one thing is certain, you have to go, now, and, hence, you are totally exposed.

The dream is depicting the total loss of a coverup, the persona that knows how to dress up and hide imperfection. Nature forces us to remove that mask as we expose the state that we are truly in. And, of course, we are deeply unacceptable, seen for what we truly believe ourselves to be: imperfect, just plain ordinary or, of course, seriously flawed.

A great concert pianist just died, at age 99. Early on in his career he left the performance stage, so fearful was he of the public eye. Such is the noose of perfection that stifles the expression of one’s capabilities upon the world stage. And being alive means being upon that world stage.

Carlos Castaneda preached: “Suspend Judgment!” He poked fun at us, mercilessly, during workshops, that we might finally get over the human curse of our own self-importance.

When we were thrown out of Eden for the brashness of becoming conscious, we were exposed to our own nakedness and had to classify it. The conclusion: we were not enough, or too lustfully burdened. SHAME!

The Lust/Strength card, of the Crowley tarot deck, pictures a voluptuously naked woman, completely relaxed in her beingness, easily taming the beast around her. This is hardly about her sexuality.

No, this is her naked acceptance of herself and her passion to advance life in total fulfillment of her desire, without judgment.

This is about an intensity of strength that transcends confidence. It’s  fully embracing, being, and reflecting, the true luster of Self.

What shame could there possibly be in that,
Chuck

When the weather is bad outside then often the weather inside of you is bad in some way too. Perhaps it’s dreary outside, making you feel dreary inside. Perhaps it’s cold outside, making you feel cold inside as well. Sometimes a sunny day keeps you happy but a cloudy day keeps you down. At other times, a dreary day may be indicating that it’s time to go inward, to withdraw and contemplate things on a deeper level. Perhaps a cooler day indicates that it’s time to warm your heart, to stir good and beautiful feelings of love inside you so that you are fully ready to express your love when called upon. Perhaps a sunny day is just to remind you to be grateful for all that you have, just as a cloudy day is just to remind to remember how contented and at peace you really are. What are you really feeling inside you today? It might be something other than you think.

All our love,

Start off on the right foot today by remembering what you pledged to yourself yesterday. Remember to keep pledging something new today as well. Lead yourself forward in new ways today, just as you may have tried to do yesterday. It’s okay if you started out strong and then forgot what you were intending. That’s okay; it’s normal. Keep in mind though, that the more you focus on change, and the more decisions you make based on the changes you wish for, the better you will get at sticking with your plan for change. Adopt an attitude of gratitude for all the little steps you are making, and without getting down on yourself, begin again today. See how much further you get today, as you remember what you are doing, one pledge at a time.

Sending you love,

As things in the world continue to ramp up, and as you fight through your own inner battles, remind yourself often that you are a warrior. Envision your warrior self in whatever fashion suits you. Arm that warrior self with whatever weapon is necessary so that you may force your way forward on your journey. A jungle warrior needs a machete to fight through the tangled jungle vines. A plains warrior needs a mighty steed to ride across the great expanses of open land. A city warrior needs something to navigate the crowds, perhaps a unicycle! Choose your metaphorical weapon. Make it work for you in whatever world you live in. Use it wisely to support you on your journey, just as you use your new words to support and nurture you on your journey as well.

Sending you love,

As mentioned at the beginning of this week, the first step in gaining the balance and the space you need to do your inner work is to take back your mind, your subconscious mind, by feeding it nurturing words, words of substance and balance, words of value and kindness, words of compassion and love. Fill your mind with mantras of words that have meaning for you, words that you can anchor in when the old words try to reenter your sphere. Speak them away with your new words of hope, love and healing.

Sending you love,
