Don’t feel let down if you are not able to hear your guides and helpers directly. Sometimes they are working behind the scenes, helping you in little ways, showing up to push you in one direction when you want to go in another. Of course, you always have your free will to choose and do what you want, but that does not mean that Spirit is not right there with you, protecting you and keeping you safe, hoping always for the best outcome. If you want to practice staying in better contact with Spirit, we suggest that you take some quiet time every day to just sit and get calm and relaxed, and with an open heart just wait. Even if it seems nothing happens, you have nonetheless strengthened your connection, and Spirit knows.

It’s okay to feel sad when something tragic happens, when someone leaves, when something in your life abruptly shifts without your knowing and you suddenly find yourself wondering what to do next. It’s okay to grieve. But when time of grief has passed, however short or long that may be, it means that new life is seeking you. Are you open to it? Are you returning your attention to harmony and alignment with life’s unfolding, so that you may once again return to the path of spiritual growth and learning that we spoke about earlier in the week? Returning to your own spirit’s journey and desires is a sure way to get swept back into the incredible energy that life in Earth School affords everyone. No one is exempt from such energy. It’s always waiting for you to jump back in. What does your spirit want to do now? Where does your spirit want to go next? Who does your spirit want to meet?

Though the outside world is extremely enticing, in so many ways, especially when one is young and eager to enjoy what life has to offer, it’s also a great learning ground for a more contemplative life. It affords one lessons in conflict, desire, greed, and everything else you can imagine that might draw you away from a spiritual path. None of those things actually draw you away from a spiritual path but instead point out your spiritual path. They teach how to maintain balance, how to gain trust, how to get in alignment with what harmonizes with your spirit and the direction that is right for your personal life and your individual spiritual desires. Everyone is on an individual journey, fraught with individual conflicts, which only that person’s unfolding journey will solve. Pay attention to where your own personal journey is going right now. Is it in alignment, in harmony with, the true needs and desires of your spirit?

When it seems as if nothing changes and life gets boring, you may all of sudden notice that things ramp up and you have some sudden issues to deal with, some challenges to attend to. Such is the flow of life. If it were too easy it would become so boring you wouldn’t learn anything new. We don’t mean learning as in classroom learning but as in spiritual learning. Your human experience is a process of spiritual learning. Everything you are doing in your life is part of your spirit’s experience too, so your spirit is in on everything, learning along with you. And your spirit likes to learn. It may actually be hastening things along when it gets bored!

Don’t forget that you are a spiritual being over and above your human form. Your human form is a vehicle for your spiritual self, a viable form to inhabit and experience life on Earth. We call it Earth School, or the Realm of Doings, where we engage in different aspects of being human in order to learn from the experiences involved in being human. Our participation in the many stages of an individual life, and in many lives combined, allows us to become teachers later for many spirits who are unused to life in human form. Once we have gained experience, we are more ready and available to help in a crisis. So, take your life and your lessons very seriously. Be an astute student of life in Earth School, keeping in mind that your future depends upon it!
