To be generous and truly giving, without needing anything in return, one must mature the inner child self into an adult who needs only the pleasure of loving and giving unconditionally, who wishes only to see the delight on the face of another and to, without judgment, experience the needs of another being met, even in simple ways. To truly love unconditionally is one of the greatest achievements of a lifetime.

Be generous, even in small and simple ways. Let your heart be open and giving, with a smile, a helping hand, a kind thought. There is always someone or something needing kindness; another person, an animal, even a physical place may need a generous touch. Generosity comes in a softly spoken word of encouragement, a gift unasked for, a surprise in the mail. Fill your heart with giving kindness so that you may fill someone else’s life with something special, not out of duty or habit, not out of pity or shame, but because it makes your heart happy to give. Give not to receive something in return, nor to show off your giving self, but give only because you can, because giving is what it’s really all about, all the time. Give anonymously, with love, expecting and needing nothing in return. That is real generosity.

Don’t forget to be loving. It’s the only thing that really matters. Whether rich or poor, a have or a have-not, in the light or in the dark, there is nothing more important than being loving to each other. No one is perfect. No one has all the answers. But what everyone shares is the ability to turn a cold heart into a warm and loving heart. If you have nothing else to be generous with, at least be generous with your heart. Be loving wherever you roam. It’s all that really matters. And REAL love is totally free to both give and to receive. And REAL love asks for nothing in return.

Let generosity become normal. Let your giving heart know fulfillment. Give generously, especially where generosity is least expected, to strangers, to those you do not know who could use it the most. Cultivate a new norm of generosity toward others, especially toward those you despise, fear, or hate. Give abundantly without attachment or need for acknowledgement. Just give because you can. A truly generous heart is a happy heart. Be abundantly generous and know generous abundance in return.
