Be wary of thought demons. They often arrive when the mind is idle. Steer clear of them as often as possible. Speak positive mantras aloud to scare them away. You will know them by their age, by how old they are, long ago thoughts that once held you bound. You will know them by their tone, a voice not your own. You will know them by their message, no longer appropriate, desired or need. Thought demons steal your energy, throw you back into old places and impede your progress. Stay alert, stay present and stay focused on your path of heart, the direction you know is right and which is your heart’s desire.

It’s okay to desire change, to wish for peace, to believe in miracles. Though your society plods onward in its usual ways, it’s okay to look beyond the status quo to what else might be possible. To dream of a better world is one path of heart that awaits. To actually walk that path, that dream, offers the possibility of an actual better world. There is a difference between just dreaming and imagining and taking action to actualize a dream. Some of the best ideas fall by the wayside because they are never given life, never actualized. Don’t let your own dreams fall by the wayside. Take one step today to make them come true. And then do the same the day after. Things don’t ordinarily happen overnight. It’s in the daily step-by-step that they unfold and become reality.

Find happiness in small things, in the glint of sunlight shining through the leaves, in the sound of spring birds calling to each other, in the scurry to build nests and lay eggs, in the soft breezes that suggest fine summer days ahead. Let the calm and predictable journey of spring arriving assure you that all is unfolding according to plan, as it always does. Yes, each year there are changes to note, things unfolding earlier than normal, perhaps too many rainstorms or too few, perhaps too hot weather too soon, but in its own way nature calmly carries on. Do the same, carry on, but do so with a calm and knowing heart, for there is till so much more to come.

Let your feet guide you along on your path of heart as often as you let your mind and heart. Let them walk you in quiet walking meditation, take you on a nature trail, get you up and down so that there is plenty of movement and activity in your life. Sometimes just a shift of the body in a new direction will change things for the better. Let them decide what direction to take, for not only are they the feet of your physical body but also the feet of the spirit that resides in you, that is you. Let them show you today what you need to learn. Just as you often let your hands guide and teach you, look to your feet today. You may be surprised at what they know and where they take you.
