Is it really true that you reap what you sow? A good seed planted in good soil has the potential to reap good while a bad seed planted in bad soil may not bloom at all, but such wisdom is faulty, for everyone knows that the best seed and the best soil still may produce bad plants and even the poorest seed planted in the poorest soil has the potential to blossom. All seeds have good and bad qualities, all soil too. No one is immune from their karmic duty and so do not ponder too long the mistakes made in planting and preparing the soil but look to what results and offer it its own potential. Let it reach for the sky or deep into the ground, let it settle or scatter as it will, for all living things have their path and who knows what that will be except in the living of it. Fate is not destiny, it is merely the beginning.

Supportive mantra: I will not work your karma, I will only work my own.

Karma: The work to be done, the issue to solve, the mission of this lifetime.

Beyond this moment lies another, here in an instant. Beyond this day lies another, here in only a matter of time. Beyond this thought lies another, as fleeting as a moment. Beyond this knowledge lies more, gained over a matter of time. Do not stand rigid and unmoving, stuck in ideas or thoughts, in thinking that you are one way or another, an unchangeable being, for the truth is that you are as fleeting as a moment, as unfolding as a day, as changeable as a thought, as deep as all knowledge. You are all these things and more, an ever-evolving being, as you should be. Strive to remember this each day and let yourself become the changing being that you truly are. It’s not that hard. Like the ease of night into day and one moment into the next let yourself go with the flow!

May the small things in life delight you and bring you to remembering that simple pleasures make life special. A visitor upon the planet, remind yourself to take only what is needed. For to live a simple life is not only to live as simply as possible but to respect all living beings and all that is provided, both seen and unseen. Seek to live simply, and with simple living enjoy the beauty and bounty of the natural world. Remind yourself often that to seek balance in simplicity, within and without, is most natural!

It is often said that moderation in all things is good. And yet how can life be lived in complete moderation when life itself is extreme? The ups an downs, the joys and sorrows must be experienced for life to be fulfilling. A life fulfilled is a life that has experienced everything, and yet there is wisdom in acting with awareness rather than unawareness, with consciousness rather than unconsciousness, with knowledge rather than lack of knowledge. There is wisdom in learning how to live to the fullest while also learning that true fulfillment comes in bearing the tension of all that life gives and all that life takes. Too much of a good thing can be as bad as too much of a bad thing. That which gives can also take. That which nurtures can also kill, but that which poisons can also heal in the right amounts. Let moderation take its rightful place, even as life unfolds at its rightful pace, bringing its extremes. A wise heart knows that where the heart leads, that’s the fulfilling path. Even in all of life’s extremes, the heart knows.
