When change is upon you, do not fear it but be open to it. Be curious, be available, and seek to understand it. When we speak of being aware or awake, we mean to encourage just this kind of openness, with all your senses ready to accept some new ideas, new insights, new ways of being that you have not considered before. To be awake and aware is to be ready to receive anything, anyone, any idea or vision, just as you would an old friend whom you have not seen in a long while and whom you receive with open, loving arms, eager to hear where they have been and how they are doing.
