Chuck’s Place: Seeking Retreat

Although Chuck is energetically unavailable this week, here is something to ponder, written by Marcus Aurelius, who lived from 121-180 A.D.

Invite quiet retreat...

Men seek retreats for themselves, houses in the country, sea-shores and mountains; and thou too art wont to desire such things very much. But this is altogether a mark of the most common sort of men, for it is in thy power whenever thou shalt choose to retire into thyself. For nowhere, either with more quiet or more freedom from trouble, does a man retire than into his own soul, particularly when he has within such thoughts that by going into them he is immediately in perfect tranquility; and I affirm that tranquility is nothing else than the good ordering of the mind. Constantly then give to thyself this retreat, and renew thyself; and let thy principles be brief and fundamental, which, as soon as thou shalt recur to them, will be sufficient to cleanse the soul completely, and to send thee back free from all discontent with the things to which thou returnest.

A Day in a Life: The Law Of The Superior SELF

Although Jan is energetically unavailable at this time, here is something to ponder.

Peaceful balance is health...

The law of the superior SELF active within us not only means that I myself cause all my illnesses and accidents, but it also includes the supremely comforting corollary that—if I utilize my energies properly—each of my movements and decisions will be for my own good. The individual whose mind is in equilibrium will always make the motion which is the most appropriate, the best for him. He will not allow any dross to build up an INSULATING WALL between his personality and his higher SELF, and therefore, in moments of peril, he will be able to rise to the highest plane. His ear is open for inner inspiration and, like a person who is all-knowing or illumined, he seizes the one possibility that will save him from danger.

What do we mean by ‘proper utilization of our energies’?

When my acts are always motivated by impersonal, unselfish LOVE based on the universal SELF, my mind will be peaceful, balanced and healthy.

Readers of Infinity: Trust Is The Key

Jan is unavailable to channel infinity today, but here is a previously channeled message from Jeanne, originally received on October 9, 2005 and published here for the first time.

Trust the ancient voice inside...

The wholeness of the universe goes beyond the self, beyond the body, though the body is crucial because it is the gateway to connecting. Direct connection to infinity is through the open channel of trust. Trust is the key. That’s all it is, you know, just being innocently and purely open to trusting all that you encounter as being real, live experiences with meaning.

Do not harbor feelings of inadequacy or fear or denial of self. You are important, even as you are not important. You are, however, key to the process of connection with infinity. Continue to examine experiential phenomena. Continue to investigate feelings, intuition, what the eyes see, what the body feels, what the heart knows, what the voice speaks.

Channeling is having access to all that is connected deep, deep inside everyone, beyond the bottom of the soul, where lies the doorway to infinity and awareness. Keen hearing and keen trust are all that are required to access the depths where this knowledge can be reached.
