Somewhere, inside every human being, lies innocence, for it is born into the fiber of life, woven into the network of existence. Often forgotten, it nonetheless exists. It is needed now when compassion is also needed, for the two go hand-in-hand. True compassion for another being requires meeting with innocence. And innocence requires a peaceful playing field if it is to dare step up to the plate. Perhaps your innocence will dare come out to play today and give of itself. May innocence, peace, and compassion greet you in return, but even if not, stay present in your own innocence. It’s the gift that’s truly needed now.

To live in harmony with nature and all other beings requires knowing harmony first within the self. For without feeling harmonious on an intimate level how can one harmonize with the world? Find your own note, your own song. Know it well and then bring it to the whole symphony of life. In blending comes the harmony you seek. What the world needs is an understanding of that. Sing without judgment, condemnation or condescension. Sing from the heart, not just now in the season of generosity, but always.
