Advice for a New Age.

The work of the Self is continually stressed, for it is the most important project assigned to humankind. Who are you? Why are you there? What is your purpose? How can you be of use to others? These are the questions that are naturally answered as one does the work of the Self, taking the inner journey to fulfillment.

It’s okay if one does not choose to delve into the inner world. It just means that the outer world will become that much more challenging and in the end there will be another go at the same challenges in the next life. However, the choice to face challenges now, and to resolve them, brings one closer to knowing the Self on the deepest levels, bringing the answers to some of life’s deepest questions.

You are what you choose, but you are also what you are already, that which is revealed and that which is not yet revealed. Are you not curious about who you will become, the potential inside you, the beauty and love that wait to more fully emerge?

Time marches on. What are you doing to keep up with it? What will you choose to discover about the Self in this year? Remember: It’s all an adventure!

A New Year offers a new fresh start, an opportunity to change. Create a new world for yourself in each choice you make, in each step you take, in each breath you breathe, in each thought you think, in tune with each beat of your heart. Make your world new by walking your path with awareness, stability, and moderation. These are the resolutions to achieve the goals of a new life and a new self. May your journey be fruitful, joyous, and good. And may it begin in this very moment and continue in every moment to come, as you challenge yourself to remain committed, concerned, and conscientious, for all the rest of your days. There is no time like now to turn in a new direction and walk a new path. Change is good!

Times of transformation are inevitable. Sometimes they are planned in advance and looked forward to with anticipation. At other times they arrive unexpectedly, often in shocking and disruptive ways. However they arrive they bring gifts. Look always for the gifts in your transformative moments, for the presents in each present moment as you take your changing journey, bringing you new life.

Renewal comes only after devastation has occurred, for new life can only arrive through a process of death and resurrection. When seeking change, or when confronted by change, do not be thwarted by the difficulties that arise, for those difficulties are the trials and tribulations that will lead to something new. There must be sacrifice if there is to be new life.

Let life’s unfolding process guide you onward, showing you what comes next, but don’t forget to be fully alive and participatory, making choices that will lead you out of the potent fires of change and into new experiences of growth. Be strong as an ox, prepared to withstand what comes to propel you forward, but be also as gentle as a kitten when appropriate, enlivening and incorporating all that you are as you take your journey of change.

And don’t forget to look always for the positive notes in each day’s events. As small as they may be they hold the keys to progress. Your Self will thank you, and don’t be surprised if real change arrives sooner than you anticipate!
