Soulbyte for Saturday May 14, 2016

Stand with feet firmly on the ground. Feel rooted where you are, a being on planet Earth, far from your real home yet home nonetheless, for wherever you find yourself that is home. Home is the being that you are, more inside than outside, so contentment may reign no matter where your feet are. Stand firm and be at peace.

Courage comes in many forms. There is the courage to quit and the courage to keep going. There is the courage to change and the courage to be steadfast. There is the courage to wait patiently and the courage to forge ahead. There is the courage to love and embrace and the courage to detach and be alone. There is the courage to go in your own direction and the courage to go with the crowd. There is the courage to fight against all odds and the courage to lay down arms and call it a truce. There is the courage to live to the fullest no matter what and there is the courage to die when the time is right. There is the courage to share with kindness and the courage to hold onto what is important. And there is the courage to just be the true self at all times and perhaps that takes the most courage of all.

Who is going to be in charge today? Who is going to speak your lines, make your decisions, and move you through your day? The real you or some other part not keeping your best interests in mind? Wake up and pay attention. You may be glad of a little awareness and the presence of mind to hold your tongue, change your mind, and move with caution. It might be all you need for the real you to remain in charge!

Optimism will keep you focused and always on a path of success, for an optimist knows no other outcome. On the other hand, it’s harder to convince a pessimist that all will be well in the end. How do you choose to think, optimistically or pessimistically? It’s really up to you, but to tell you the truth one is always happier than the other, looking forward, the end always bright. Think you can’t change? Of course you can! Is it time to adopt a new attitude? Try optimism!

Soulbyte for Tuesday May 10, 2016

Nature is composed of night and day, light and dark, the opposites that create the tensions and the sparks of life. So too all human beings have similar natures, the opposites within. How seamlessly nature flows between the two, each taking its turn. So is the challenge of all human beings, to reconcile the opposites within themselves, to know fully both what lives in the light and what sleeps in the dark. Nature is alive no matter what phase it is in, the creatures of the night as alive and active as those of the day. Nature never sleeps. And yet the human being sleeps through much of life, barely aware of the awake self.

Strive always to fully know the true nature of self, to understand the inner creatures—seen and unseen, heard and unheard, light and dark—for it is there that your salvation, your creativity, your truths lie, and your reconciliation too! Know thyself.
