Choices matter. Decisions are crucial, even the smallest ones have impact. Your life, you see, is largely under your jurisdiction. You are in charge of what you choose to think and do. Even so, many things occur that you have no control over, for you are like nature. In the natural world the wind blows, rain falls, sun shines, clouds gather, night comes, all uncalled for and yet, they occur. Life is not one big sunny day and that has to be accepted. It flows as a meandering river, known for its power, its beauty, its swirling eddies and you flow with it. A part of you knows that all is as it should be and that around the next bend lies something new and unexpected, and that too is acceptable. A part of you knows that it is what is, and it is good, that each day you are being taught what it’s all about. How you choose to accept your life matters. Are you going with the flow?

Imagine if love were the world’s guiding principle. What then would happen to its opposite, hate? Would hate disappear, recoil into hidden recesses of the mind? It might fester like a bad wound, a cancer, until it sprang back to life, coming in many new forms, stronger than ever. Far better to deal with it now, head on, than hide it and hide from it. And what antidote, what medicine, what power do you use as you face hate? Love, of course! For as powerful as hate is when faced with enough love it will eventually melt its hard-hearted stance and transform into love-giving energy. Give it a change, give love a chance.

Provide the self with new initiatives each day as changes arise, as life unfolds, as challenges come, and as you acquiesce to life’s unbending intent to take you on your journey. Basically, if you learn to go with the flow, not giving in but giving it your all, your adventures in this lifetime will be all that you could want. What does that mean to you in your life, going with the flow? Give it a whirl and see what happens. Remember: you can’t stop what is bound to happen but you can take it on in a new way. That is going with the flow!

Beauty lies where you find it. It may be in something simple and sweet or it may be in something complicated and austere. It may be found in words, in thoughts, in deeds, in experiences of awe. But looking outwardly for beauty only lasts so long. Don’t forget to look inwardly at the beauty of you, and then don’t forget to let it live outwardly in all you do and say, from the most simple to the most profound, for your beauty within seeks expression without. Give it some attention and realize that beauty, in some form, really does exist in everyone, for it will come to greet you in so many unimaginable ways as you live the beauty of you.
