Before you know it, things have changed. Before you know it, you are living a different life. Before you know it, your life is unimaginably changed and you wonder how it all happened so fast. Well, that’s what happens when you tap into the magic of true reality, when you tap into the world of the now, where everything exists. What you desire becomes. What you wish for is. What you dream of manifests. Keep up the good work of manifesting a loving, kind, compassionate and peaceful world. It’s on the way.
Sometimes the future can seem very far off, but in reality, it is already here. Imagine what you so desire as already here, now, as well. For if you can imagine it, it has already happened. It is forming in reality as soon as you think it. But if you take your mind off it for too long it may collapse into nothingness, or it may stagnate and fail to fully form. Keep your attention on your desires, constructing them in your mind’s eye every day so that you keep your dream fully alive and well.
I mentioned to Jan that I was reading Castaneda again, a man whose works have had a profound impact upon me.
She handed me a book. “You should read this,” she said.
The book surprised me. It was a book I’d avoided reading for years: A Magical Journey With Carlos Castaneda by Margaret Runyan Castaneda, once Carlos’ wife.
Carlos and Margaret got together in the mid 1950’s, married on January 27, 1960 and divorced in 1973. In all actuality, they lived together for less than a year, as Carlos was quite preoccupied with visits to Mexico and his apprenticeship with don Juan Matus. I add here the trickster caveat that, as with all things Castaneda, there is no real documentation of anything.
Most striking to me in Margaret’s book was the discovery that Margaret’s guru was Neville Goddard, a prominent New Thought teacher, whom though aware of, I had never immersed myself in.
Particularly striking to me was the discovery that both Neville Goddard and Joseph Murphy were prominent students of a learned man, named Abdullah, a black rabbi in New York City, originally from Ethiopia.
There are several unknowns about the true origin of Abdullah, a bit of a mysterious character it seems, much like Carlos Castaneda and don Juan Matus, but he had a profound impact on both Murphy and Goddard.
I have extolled the virtues of Joseph Murphy’s The Power Of The Subconscious Mind in numerous blogs, and am now exploring the work of Neville Goddard.
What I never knew was that Carlos Castaneda was directly exposed to the New Thought lineage through Margaret, as she frequently spoke to him about the impact Goddard’s teachings had upon her, and she personally brought him to a Neville Goddard lecture.
For me, this unexpected knowledge brings the teachings of the shamans of ancient Mexico, in accessing the divine power of the subconscious mind, full circle into alignment with the New Thought lineage.
Rather than expound more upon the curious interconnectedness of what has preoccupied me most of my spiritual life, I share the following inks:
A new day offers an opportunity for change. If things are dark and depressing, a new day offers the opportunity to turn things in a new direction, to lift the spirit with thoughts of something beautiful. Perhaps keep the power of nature in mind as one reminisces about how after Winter there is always Spring; it never fails to come. Think of all the scenes of a beautiful day, with the sun shining, the air fresh and the wind gentle. Think of someone who makes you smile. Think of all the love you feel for someone special in your life. Think of the future self in a happy place, doing something you love. Allow depression to have its run with you but then run away from it as fast as you can, for in truth is does you no good.
Reach out with your prayers and your words of need. Your voices are heard. It is not always easy to respond because of the human desire for things to be a certain way. Try getting into a state of relaxation and receptivity and you may do better with hearing us. Oftentimes, when someone is in distress and their normal ego-shell is broken, they may hear us quite clearly. But it is not necessary to be in distress to hear us. Keep an open heart, full of expectation, and freed of anything that will get in the way of complete openness. Openness is the key.
